Everything you need to know about 5G Technology | 5G Technology Q&A

5G Technology in India

The government has given permission to test 5G technology in India. Telecommunications companies have long been asking for this. The dream of a fast internet in India has come one step closer to realization.

Most of the people have some common question like what is 5G? What is the difference between 4G and 5G? How is the Internet world going to change with 5G technology? Is 5G technology harmful to health?

In this article, we are going to answer all questions related to 5G Technology.

What is 5G Technology?

5G wireless technology is intended to provide higher multi-Gbps peak data speeds, ultra-low latency, greater reliability, larger-scale network capacity, increased availability, and a uniform user experience for more users. Higher performance and better efficiency enable new user experiences and connect new industries.

Why Do We Need 5G Technology?

The government has approved the testing of high-speed Internet 5G technology. 5G networks will form the technological foundation for economic growth in this decade as they are capable of faster data speeds as a result; the download speed will be 40 times faster than today. Also, there will be more internet connected devices.

5G Trials in India

According to guidelines, every telecommunications company must test 5G in all areas. This means that every telecom company needs to test 5G technology at the village, town, and city levels. It's not just limited to urban locations. For this purpose, companies will make their technical settings at test locations. Two months have been set aside for the installation of 5G devices across the country. The communications ministry said in a statement that telecommunications companies have 6 months to try 5G. They also launched it as a commercial service at the time of the attempt. However, access is only limited to 5G devices. All data connected to 5G will be stored on a server in India.

5G Technology Companies in India

Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, and MTNL have applied for 5G trials in the country. These telecom companies will take part in the trial. These companies have tie-ups with companies like Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-Dot for 5G devices.

Is any Chinese company involved in the 5G Trial?

Because of poor relations with China, two large Chinese companies are excluded from this process. Huawei and ZTE are not involved in 5G trial in India. They are not only in China, but they are the world's largest telecommunications equipment manufacturers.

It is believed that the government wants to keep China away from this trial, so no telecom company has signed a contract with these companies for trials. In such a situation, there is no question of rejection, and no telecommunications company had expressed a desire to use Huawei and ZTE devices.

Why 5G is better than 4G?

5G wireless technology means faster internet speed, almost 100 times faster than 4G. When the wireless internet gets faster, things won't be limited to just watching videos on YouTube or Netflix. Things like autonomous vehicles, virtual real estate, and the Internet of Things will also become common. This means that things like self-driving cars, smart homes, etc. will also become easier. These technologies are ready or in the final stages.

We may find that 4G technologies are faster, but technically it's not that fast. Sometimes you too feel that the voice and sound of the video are going down during a video call. This is because of the late reactance. Think if we want to give a command to the car over such an internet? A delay of a few seconds in the command can also endanger life. There are many such works that require better and faster internet. This dream will make 5G come true.

4G will be End after 5G Technology!

Even though 5G now seems to be the technology of the next stage, but it has a lot of bells and whistles attached to it. You can understand it as such that telecommunications companies need to deploy the new and dense network of antennas and towers across the country. The second point is that, after 5G, 4G will not end. It is not like before that if 3G came, 2G bye-bye, and when 4G came, we said bye-bye to 3G. 4G technology of the Internet is going to remain. High-speed Internet network is going to be ready.

High-frequency radio waves use for the 5G network. High-frequency radio waves can send data quickly and without loss, but these waves don't go very far. Sometimes rainy things can also prevent them from going any further. Now the solution is that we should install more towers over short distances. 5G towers are smaller and closer than 4G towers. But the thing is, we need ten 5G towers on the place of one 4G tower. However, the number of towers also depends on the location and the density of users.

Is 5G Technology Harmful?

People have been confused about wireless technology since it came. Recently, there are many rumors related to 5G technology like people are getting a shock by touching anything due to 5G.

To be very honest, these are false claims…

We need to understand the science behind radiations to avoid the 5G technology rumors.

Radiation means energy that comes from any source. This happens for any energy source. For an example, when a fire burns, heat emits from it, and it is also considered being radiation according to the body. But there are some types of radiation that can make you sick.

So basically, radiations are either dangerous or safe. In this sense, we can divide radiation into two parts; one is ionizing, and the other is non-ionizing.

Ionizing radiation is radiation in which the intensity of the waves is very high. For example, ultraviolet waves such as X-rays and gamma rays. It can harm the body. Ionizing radiation can affect the cells and DNA of the body. That is why it is said that you do not keep taking X-rays. Sitting in sunlight for long periods is also prohibited.

In the case of non-ionizing radiation, the wavelength or the intensity of the waves is very low. These waves don't have enough force to react with the body. For example, radio wave medium, shortwave, and FM waves. We use similar waves in TV signals, cell phones, 4G and 5G technology. The American Cancer Society found in their long-standing study on the radio that it had no negative effects on humans.
